   The frozen beast 
   (ULTAR SAR)
Ultar Sar is the southeasternmost major peak of the Batura Muztagh, a subrange of the Karakoram range. It lies about 10 km northeast of the Karimabad, a town on the Karakoram Highway in the Hunza Valley, part of the Gilgit District of Gilgit–Baltistan, Pakistan
The mighty peak's elevation is 7,388 meters and it was first ascended in july 11, 1996 by "Akito Yamazaki and "kiyoshi Matsuoka".

It was the independent un-ascended peak in Pakistan till 1990s.
This peak challenged many and stood responsible for many lives of the climbers.


"Tsuneo Hasegawa" was a japanese alphinist and his achievements include the winter solo ascent of the “Great North Faces of the Alps” or "North Face Trilogy" (Matterhorn in 1977, Eiger in 1978, Grandes Jorasses in 1979) and the world’s first winter solo ascent of the South Face of Aconcagua in 1981. died in an avalanche while ascending "ultar sar" in 1991.A school was built on his name in karimabad which is still a famous and well reputed school in Hunza.
